I will never forget Darren, even though I never got to meet him, I felt like through Donna I knew him very well, as a great man, a wonderful loving husband and a very kind soul. She shared with me all of this and at the time I was a single woman and I told you that I hope I find me a Darren one day and to my amazement a month later, I met my future husband and his name is Darren and hes everything you ever described your Darren as being...Yalls love inspired me and gave me hope! that is a cherished memory I will always have of him, and Donna I dont know if you remember me telling you that, but I do! Darren was just plain good to the bone...I lived across the street from him and Donna and he was there as a friend and neighbor at anytime night or day...what a sweetheart! What a loving and kind person. Always ready to lend a hand and help...always a smile...I saw first hand what a wonderful and thoughtful husband he was. I just can't find the words to express the tremendous loss and grief I feel.

Darren & I met because our wives, Donna & Cindy worked together at Allstate. There were many occasions when Darren & I would run into each other in the hall, or in the cafeteria, or in the parking garage at Allstate. We never just said "hi" or "hey" and walked on. Those occasions were times for us to catch up with each other. We would talk about recent trips, adventures, mishaps, our jobs...whatever was happening at the time. We always shared a good laugh or joke about something. Every visit, though, we always asked each other about our families. Darren was a very caring and sincere guy when it came to his family and friends. I miss those few minutes we shared once or twice a week and the hearty handshake each time we met. Darren, Cindy & I will always treasure yours and Donna's friendship. See you at the range..........

I met Darren through Donna when they first started dating. What a gentlemen, great husband, great provider and he was Donna's best friend. To me he was family he would give you the shirt off his back and his last dime in his pocket. He has always been there for me no matter what the issue was. He never said no. Robby and me loved darren and his whole family so much. In school, I honestly thought thosr 2 boys were the nicest people ive ever met. I was talking to robby last night about this and he was so hurt to lose darren. His first memory was them all around the courts riding there bikes every nite. And this will probably bring a big laugh to anyone who knew him, but he always had to be home , no matter what he was doingso he could watch his favorite program back then which was "alice"which was so funny. But even though therse was some competitiveness between them, they had each others back, they loved each other very much. I just think those boys were very respecrful to women, and never thought they were better than anyone else. They were very good men that were brought up right and had wonderful parents

I have so any wonderful Memmories of Darren but one of the best is shortly after Donna and Darren moved to a house with some land, we came out for a visit. My twins were probably about 6 years old, and they loved going to see them as much as we did. Darren had a way with kids and always took the time to do things that would interest them. Well, as he was giving us a tour and showing off his garden, explaining why you don't plant tomatos near your onions or jalepenos a dog came up to him for some petting. When he stopped the dog came to me. What a pretty dog, what's it's name I asked. Deogie he said with a chuckle. Deogie? What a pretty name, is it an indian name-what does it mean? Darren explained that the dog was a stray and he and Donna didn't want to keep the dog so he just called it Deogie. Well, I was more confused then ever! But why then did you name it Deogie? Darren let out this huge belly laugh and said Barb, the dogs name is D-O-G not deogie! I still chuckle when I think of it!

There is a saying that people may not remember what you say or do for them, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Darren always made myself and family feel so welcomed, loved, and special.

We were both born on Dec. 11th and Darren began calling every year and would start the conversation with "well hello there sis! just wanted to wish you a happy birthday!" Soon it became a game of who could call our twin 1st! I guess this year I will have to use my knees instead of the phone, but you can bet I will always be wishing him-"my twin" the very best.

I love you my friend and will miss you.
